If a tree falls in the forest, and some people choose to not hear it, does it mean the whole forest should be OK to sell as toilet paper?
Michael Fikaris is a visual artist and award winning editor, publisher and community builder. Recently Michael has been collaborating with Timorese poet Osme Gonsalves, working on a graphic novel in four parts. This work follows the life of a Timorese child growing up during Indonesian military occupation over 25 years and questions the war machine that affects every living person on this planet. Michael has completed numerous visiting artist residencies including placements in East Timor, Indonesia, Portugal and Aotearoa/New Zealand and is always drawing, painting and learning. He is also the co-ordinator of the Silent Army Comic Art Collective.
